put an anchor on it.

remember that time when i wrote a big, fat blog post about who i am not? i mentioned in there that there are a lot of things i am not. one of those things, and this really ought not come as a shock to you, is that i am not a fashion blogger. aside from the fact that my husband goes to a fancy art school college that demands an exorbitant amount of pennies and dollars and first born children in the name of tuition and consequently leaves us with part time jobs, a pathetic income and every penny going to just surviving with almost nothing left over for luxuries like paper towels J.Crew or Anthropologie clothing.

...where was i...
oh, right.

aside from the fact that we're paupers, i'm just a jeans and a tee kind of girl. yes, sometimes it's fun to dress up and layer the bananas out of an outfit, but i really just love the simplicity of an awesome tee shirt and a good pair of jeans. i always have. fun fact: the last friday of every month was "non-uniform" day at my private, plaid skirt wearing school and almost every friday, without fail, i rocked a pair of jeans and a comfortable tee. and i never duplicated a t-shirt. impressive, no?

i put together this kick-a slideshow of photos of me through the years wearing some of my very favorite t-shirts of all time. it's a pretty emotional slideshow and if you could hum "I Will Remember You" by one Sarah McLachlan to yourself it will only add to the sentiment.

the last two photos are of the same shirt. it was my very favorite of all time. OF ALL TIME. my sister bought it from goodwill and i yoinked it from her Jean Valjean style. thief in the night, yo. it fit perfectly. it was my favorite color. i loved it. it  worked and i worked it hard. for 6 long yurrs. but i guess all goodwill things must come to an end. because one day it just wasn't the same. maybe it was the fact that it was arguably at least a decade old. perhaps it was the fact that i wore it/washed it at least once a week for several years. perhaps my torso became even more freakishly long than it already was. but whatever the cause, it was no more. and my favorite t-shirt and i had to part ways. RIP.

but this isn't a sad blog post. and let me tell you why.

a few weeks ago i received an email from Jeremy at Whoop Tee. he asked if i would be interested in designing a t-shirt. obviously i was. but that's not the best part. the fine people at Whoop Tee are providing 3 (THREE!)lucky readers of this blog with the very same shirt that i got to design and own!

so pleased with my new t-shirt that i did a cartwheel. holla!

you guys, this t-shirt is awesome. AWESOME, i tell you. it is so soft and it fits just how a t-shirt should. it's loose, but not so loose it could be misconstrued as a circus tent. it's a perfect weight and material. i couldn't be happier with it. also, i think the design i went with is pretty darn great. even garrett wants one for himself. twinners!

so enter the giveaway! THREE winners will be chosen which means THREE of you will be sitting pretty in the coziest t-shirt e'er.

good luck. and may the odds be ever in your favor.

(umm..still obsessed with the hunger games..don't judge.)

  2. It probably would have to be this super soft t-shirt that I have from NIKE. It says "running sucks" on the front. I LOVE running so I thought it would be hilarious to run while wearing it. I get crazy looks from people and have even caught 2 people laughing as I ran by! It cracks me up every time I wear it while running. Long story...sorry! haha.

  3. My favorite t-shirt ever is from when I was a little girl. It had a screen print of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. I wore that thing until the screen print cracked and peeled off! :)

  6. I had a t-shirt from the little boy's section of goodwill when I was in high school, I loved that shirt. It was a great dark blue, had a cute baseball team logo on it. Got my driver's license picture taken in that shirt! I, too, have a freakishly long torso though, so it didn't last past high school. Now my favorites are all the ones I steal from my husband's closet!

  18. My favorite shirt is one that my YW leader found in the lost and found. And took. And I somehow ended up with it. It's loose, teal and has the number 11 on it. That's all, but I love it.

  19. My favorite T-shirt is one my dad gave me when I was like, 3. He had bought in on his mission to France, so it was waaaay too big, but I love it anyway. I wore it when I played dress-up, and I wore it to bed, and every few years my mom took a picture of me wearing it. It never ended up fitting (my dad's a lot bigger than me), but it did have a ton of holes...

  21. Girl! You know I had to comment! My favorite T-shirt is the EFY 2010 one. It just means so much to me. It's the last EFY shirt I'd ever get as a counselor. It was the EFY shirt from the year Garrison proposed 5 years after meeting at the EXACT same EFY camp. It was the shirt I was wearing when my family surprised me with my bridal shower after driving 5 hours from my last session of EFY, crying because it was over and because I was thrilled to have been closer to getting married and going to the temple. It was the shirt I wore the night before I got married to my best friend. I still love the shirt to pieces and I even have an extra one that I got to give to Garrison. Oh, plus it's probably the most interesting design I've seen on an EFY shirt, ever, but I'm kind of biased.
