i've stopped using my mirror to check my makeup. my ipad is far more accurate. also, i hate my mirror. |
weekend update.
(and also, just so you know, my weekend generally starts on Thursday afternoon. garrett's school doesn't ever have classes on Fridays so Thursdays become our Fridays.)
thursday night i went to Book Club.
i actually really like book club. especially because we spend like maybe 3 minutes total discussing the books we read and the rest of the time its just fun. this week we ate a buttload of candy (side note: here are two candy combo revelations to blow your mind 1. popcorn with sour patch kids in it. amazing. 2. regular M&Ms with Sugar Babies. i don't even...so good.), talked about our book (Little Women) and watched the movie.
i got the vibe that no one else totally loved the book. and i get it. it's old and sort of odd. but the thing is, and i 've been totally honest about this from the beginning, i only suggested the book because i wanted to watch the movie...because Christian Bale is in it. and i love Christian Bale.
i'm currently trying to figure out a way to finagle the group into watching Newsies with me. because...obviously.
anyways.
garrett and i spent friday and saturday running errands. garrett got a new pair of shoes. sometimes i get frustrated because i feel like we always buy him shoes. but the kid, for whatever reason, blows through a shoe like it's a roll of toilet paper. i don't know how he does it. but he can't have shoes with holes and detaching soles all the time, so we got him new ones. and i bought some makeup with the Ulta giftcard my parents sent me for my birthday.
and then i got my hair cut.
guys, it was so far past that point of "needing" a trim that it was just embarrassing. if it wasn't curled, it was up. but if i wore it straight (it's natural style, mind you) i risked the chance of horses coming over for a snack. and gilly is scared of horses so that would have been bad on all accounts.
and how about this
10 years later, she did a better job. and i'm pleased with my hair that no longer feels like horse feed.
in other news, gilly went on a 3 mile walk with me and garrett saturday morning. it was perfection and joy and gloriousness all rolled into one. minus the parts where we had to walk through our ghetto neighborhood and gilly had to skip around a buttload of broken glass.
also, my neck got burned during the walk. i am so pasty white it's disgusting.
i have high hopes of going to the beach next weekend.
come on, garrett. let's make this happen. i have a cute, new swimmy suit that needs to be worn. stat.
love,
kate.
lyrics: come on friends, get up now. love is to be made.
New reader! Also, my hair is soooooo long past needed a cut (WAY more than a trim) it's pathetic. I wore it down and straight to church today and while I was there I got a glimpse of myself and was like "whoa! is that what I look like?!" Anyway, scheduling an appointment tomorrow. Thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteI love that you do hair yet still insist on only cutting off only the bare minimum. I always feel like such a baby telling them ONLY an inch! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great weekend. There really is nothing better than to go on a nice long walk with the family and get fresh air. Bummer you got burned though
ReplyDeleteUmm...is there a reason you are so gorgeous?!!? Geezum!
ReplyDeleteYour hair is always phenomenal! I would totally join book club, sounds like fun!

Haha, this post is full of random, great information, I love it! Also, I'm excited that you are going to be living in Salt Lake all summer!!! Oh, and for real, even if my client needed their head shaved, I would never chop THAT much off when they said a few inches. Heck, the person is already sacrificing the last year of their hair's growth, give them a break!!!

i have been debating on cutting mine so i look just like elizabeth olsen (in my mind we would be twins after my cut), but just can't pull the trigger, because i am afraid i will miss my long hair.
ReplyDeleteMy husband blows through shoes like that too, oh and toilet paper. It's ridic.
